A warm welcome to the second virtual investor event to meet the most prominent Finnish health and life science focused research groups! The event is invite-only and free-of-charge for international and Finnish investors.

During the event, you will have an opportunity to:

Listen to the pitches of the most prominent health and life science focused research groups of the Finnish universities
Virtually meet with the research groups in 1-to-1 meetings after the pitches

The research groups are selected by Business Finland in cooperation with the Finnish universities, and you can find the details of the research groups below.

Jasmine Pro

Jasmine PRO is a project at Åbo Akademi aiming to develop polymeric drug delivery approaches using proprietary poly(jasmine lactone) platform. The poly(jasmine lactone) platform tackles many of the problems in polymeric drug delivery such as suboptimal drug loading, poor bioavailability and lack of suitable functional groups for conjugating pharmaceutical compounds with the core polymer.

Graphene based dry electrodes

The measurement of biopotential signals (such as ECG and EEG) is a widely employed method in health-care for illness diagnosis and patient state monitoring as well as in sport and wellbeing sectors to track performance, recovery, and physiological state of the body. The existing mainstream method to realize the electrical contact to skin is via disposable pregelled Ag/AgCl electrodes. Despite of market domination pregelled Ag/AgCl electrodes have many shortcomings such as skin irritation, wear discomfort, limited bandwidth and price point. VTT has invented and patented novel graphene based dry electrode solution which provides excellent signal quality and user comfort while being cheap and reliable in long-them measurements, thus eliminating all the pain points of hydrogel electrodes.

The first virtual event in 2020 led to several discussions

The first Finnish Health and Life Science Research Showcase for Investors event was organised in November 2020, bringing successfully together leading international investors and groundbreaking Finnish future innovations.

The event introduced altogether 26 promising research projects from Finnish universities to 20 international and 17 Finnish investors. More than half of the contacts made in the event led to further discussions.

This year we are building even bigger bridges between investors and Finnish researchers while bringing the future into the present!
