Spanish health startups explored the Helsinki health ecosystem

Helsinki Partners and Health Capital Helsinki had the pleasure of hosting a group of top health startups from Spain in late March. Both the Helsinki health ecosystem players and Spanish startups are solving urgent health issues related to, e.g., prevention, treatment and diagnostics of cancer, rare diseases, and chronic illnesses. The topics of the visit revolved around health data, genetics, digitalisation, value-based healthcare and new ways to provide treatment –  foundations to building the future of health.

The intent of the visit was to learn about the health innovation ecosystem in the Helsinki Metropolitan region and to build collaboration networks. The group consisted of 9 promising startups from Spain, and the visit was organised by The Economic and Commercial Office of Spain in Helsinki, ICEX, Helsinki Partners and Health Capital Helsinki.During their visit in Finland, the startups visited the Nordics’ leading startup campus Maria 01, Health & Life Science startup community  Terkko Health Hub, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences and Aalto University. They were introduced to concrete future collaboration opportunities within the FinnGen project,  Helsinki University Hospital and CleverHealth Network, Metropolia Proof Health with its simulation hospital, Health Incubator Helsinki and Biodesign Finland program – to name but a few. At Terkko Health Hub, the group had the opportunity to meet with Health Incubator Helsinki startups to share experiences. Evening program included a pitch event for local investors, Business Finland and key players of the Helsinki health ecosystem. Warm thank you to all participants and presenters!  If you are interesting in investing, keep an eye on the participating startups from Spain:ADAMO ROBOT | Cancerappy | Cella Medical Solutions | EVERSENS SL | genengine | iakan health | Innsomnia | Naru Intelligence | ituSalud
