Health Incubator Helsinki is seeking dedicated startups and teams to join its fifth program
Health Incubator Helsinki, Finland’s first long-term incubator program for research-based health sector startups and teams, is accepting applications until 31 March 2024!
Collaborating with talented people is fundamental to the successful start of a new health business. Health Incubator Helsinki, initiated by the City of Helsinki and the University of Helsinki, offers a unique environment for this. The three-year incubator program, designed to boost the commercialisation and growth of research innovations towards successful businesses, is now seeking a fifth batch of Finnish and international early-stage teams into its fold.
Health Incubator Helsinki equips startups and teams with tailored mentoring, advice, and networking opportunities, as well as office and co-working space at Terkko Health Hub, in close proximity to HUS Helsinki University Hospital. Apart from a small fee for the office space, the incubator services are free for the participants.
Over the years, Health Incubator Helsinki startups have collected a total of 30 million euros in funding.
Currently, the incubator is supporting 35 teams that are developing new concepts and technologies for various needs of both the research community as well as end-users and caregivers. The teams have achieved impressive results during their journey, and over the years, participating companies have collected a total of 30 million euros in funding.
The incubator program application period runs from 14 February to 31 March, 2024. After that, the selected candidates will be invited to an interview, and approximately 10 startups will begin in the incubator by the end of April.
“In the application phase, we assess whether there is a demand for the innovation, service or product or whether the team is working on something new or just improving existing solutions. Key selection criteria include the team’s competence, experience, dedication and passion. Equally important is that the product must also be internationally scalable”, Christian Lardot, Incubator Lead at Health Incubator Helsinki states.
