Helsinki strengthens its position as a city promoting health innovation by partnering with the Radical Health Festival Helsinki, taking place at the Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre (Messukeskus) from 12 to 14 June 2023. The Radical Health Festival Helsinki is a new European health event bringing together the digital health community and increasing the cooperation between companies, researchers and the entire health sector.
Themes of Radical Health Festival Helsinki are AI, cybersecurity, innovation, mental health, climate health, active aging, telehealth, and digital maturity.
These themes are also promoted by the Health Capital Helsinki (HCH) cluster, which is built on the strong science campuses in the Helsinki region. HCH brings together local organisations in health and life sciences, as well as in health technology and social and health care. Through the cluster, the HUS Helsinki University Hospital, the Cities of Helsinki and Espoo, the University of Helsinki, Aalto University, and the Metropolia and Haaga-Helia Universities of Applied Sciences aim to achieve considerable growth in health-sector expertise and related business.

Helsinki has made sustained efforts to develop future welfare services with start-ups and business partners, including piloting new digital services for the social and health care sector. Helsinki’s goal is to provide a city-wide test platform for testing, developing, piloting and scaling innovations. Together with RDI networks, sustainable investors and experts, the city can achieve solutions to global challenges. Events as Radical Health Festival has an important role in this work.

The goal is to enable new, ground-breaking concepts and technologies for the health sector.

Radical Health Festival offers great opportunities for health startups: Startups present live demos of their solutions on main stages, take part in panel discussions and get to network with international stakeholders from the entire ecosystem.
In addition, EC2VC Investors Forum and Pitch Competition will take place as part of the Radical Health Festival Helsinki on 12 June, gathering over 40 of the most influential digital health investors in Europe. 10 innovative startups, currently looking for early stage rounds of investment (preseed to series A) will be selected to participate in the Pitch Competition for a chance to win a €5,000 cash prize on top of quality mentorship from Innovestor, a Finnish VC investor.
